BBCA Independence Day Chess Tournament

Adult Open Champion: Hasibul Hasan Hanif Adult Major Champion: Dorbesh Chowdhury On Sunday 27 March 2016 British Bangla Chess Association (BBCA), organised their monthly Open Rapidplay Chess Tournament under the title of 45th Independence Day Chess Championship to commemorate the Independence of Bangladesh which was declared first on 26 March 1971 Wahid Ahmed & Co Chartered Accountants Tournament was sponsored the tournament. In adult open tournaments, BBCA Joint Secretary Hasibul Hasan Hanif, Ex National Chess Player of Bangladesh became Champion. Hanif scored 5 out of 5 games. On the other hand BBCA President Tariqul Alam Khan became runner up with 4 points. In Major group, Dorbesh Chowdhury became Champion and Mashudul Hoque became runner up. Among others, BBCA Vice President Mazed Biswas, General Secretary Kalam Bhuiyan, Treasurer Mostaque Hussain Choudhury, Organising Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Hossain Nannu, Mohammad Islam Herok, Ishtiaque Hussain, Nasreen Aziz, Arez Hussain, Wadi Hussain took part in the competition. Ex Deputy Mayor and Council leader Mr Mortuza handed over the prizes to the winners. Our purpose is to promote chess. Everyone is welcome to attend either free chess lesson or to play friendly games. Complimentary drinks and snacks are provided.
